Cheese on Wheels.

Personal Work

Character Design: Creating and refining the character's visual appearance throughout its various iterations.
2D Cel Animation: Animating the character in the initial 2D style.
2D Vector Animation: Recreating and animating the character in After Effects.
3D Modeling: Building the character and city environment in 3D.
Character Rigging: Creating a 3D rig for expressive and dynamic movement.
3D Animation: Animating the character within the 3D city environment.
Environment Design: Creating the concept, modeling, texturing, and lighting of the city environment.

"Cheese on Wheels" is a personal animation project that explores the journey of a character across diverse animation techniques. From its initial 2D cel animation roots to its final 3D incarnation within a fully realized city environment, this project showcases a character's evolution and my ability to create a cohesive visual experience across multiple mediums.

The Challenge:

The challenge was to maintain a consistent character personality and cartoonish style while translating it through distinct animation techniques. This involved creating a character that felt alive and engaging, whether rendered in traditional 2D or a fully realized 3D world. The project also demanded the creation of a detailed and visually interesting city environment to serve as the character's backdrop.

The Solution:

I approached this project by developing the character through several animation iterations:

2D Cel Animation: The character's initial animation was created using traditional cel animation techniques in Photoshop, establishing its core personality and movement style.
2D Vector Animation (After Effects): This stage involved recreating and animating the character in a vector-based workflow within After Effects, refining its movements and visual style.
3D Animation: The character was then brought into the 3D realm, where it was modeled, rigged, and animated within a detailed 3D city environment using Cinema 4D and Blender

A Peek Behind the Pixels.

Cheese on Wheels" was a journey through different animation styles and environments. The process included:

2D Cel Animation, Vector Animation, 3D Modeling and Rigging, and 3D Animation.

For this project i used Cinema 4D, Photoshop, After Effects, Blender.
